I found this quote as a teenager and as a Calvin and Hobbes fan boy it just makes sense! The one person you should be able to laugh at every time is yourself. If you can’t do that you need a mental check up. We are human and we make mistakes. Learning to laugh at your own foibles is a great foil for how serious many of us take ourselves. We need to laugh and lighten up, it has been proven scientifically that laughter is good medicine.
