where character counts and integrity is the keystone

I, Wrote

I’m Lonely

The miles that separate us
will be nothing in time;
We’ll soon have each other ‑
and can heal this rift of mine.

Over here with all these girls,
Yet they don’t touch your lovely curves.
I’m missing you & your touch ‑
I long to caress you ever so much.

When I’m feeling blue from missing you,
a cloud of despair covers me ‑ like fog at a dragon’s lair.
If I could conjure visions of you ‑
maybe I wouldn’t feel so blue.

You are so far away,
that memories of you have begun to fade.
There’re things that happened in the past ‑
yet its strong enough to last.

This trial of time & distance
seems to have me in an awkward stance.
Sometimes I’m not sure where I stand ‑
over here I’m just a lonely man.

The words that are spoken seem profound;
but words are empty without feeling ’round!
Why do I feel out cast here ‑
is it ’cause your way over there?

I sometimes feel like crying on my pillow ‑
with these tokens of our love around.
I would sleep under a weeping willow
and cover up with the ground.
