All versions of Windows (from 2000 SP4 to Vista\/Server 2008) are affected, and all versions prior to Vista and Server 2008 are suspectible to attack through unauthenticated connections.<\/p>\n<p>The off-cycle release is motivated the fact that trojans exploiting the vulnerability have been found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/security\/portal\/Entry.aspx?name=TrojanSpy%3aWin32%2fGimmiv.A\">in the wild<\/a>, and by the potential this flaw has for a worm-based attack.
