iPad Mini Disappointment

On the 12th of September, Apple announced the iPhone 5 and updated some of the iPods. I was really surprised that the new iPod Touches are priced as high as they are $299 and $399 for 32gb and 64gb.  If the rumors are true, that there is an iPad Mini or 7.85″ iPad coming in October (2012) or March (2013) then were in the world does it fit in on price?  The iPads are priced at $499, $599, and $699 for the 16gb, 32gb, and 64gb respectively (Wi-Fi only).

I just don’t see it happening … and I was looking forward to the possibility of getting a larger iScreen that would qualify as an everyday carry to replace my MacBook and still be small enough that I don’t have to carry my laptop bag. I already have a Bluetooth keyboard and I have been waiting to see what is going to happen.  I admit that I have been waiting for the iPad Mini announcement … and if it doesn’t come, then I am probably going to get a Nexus 7 from Google. It would mean moving from iBookstore to the Kindle book store and probably a MiFi to use with it. I really don’t want to make the change, I really like the iBookstore and have read 3 or 4 books via the iBooks App. The iPhone is just to small a screen to spend an hour or more reading.  A Kindle doesn’t have enough features for me and I really am not interested in a Kindle Fire.

On top of all that, I have hundreds of Apps for iOS, Movies and TV Shows from iTunes, and other things that I have come to rely on and prefer. I just wish that I knew what was going on so that I could plan and prepare for it.
